Brick Lane and Whitechapel area is often associated with lower income and crimes. However, really walking in this area, we observed a very vibrant and political engaged community, which is especially demonstrated through the street arts that we saw. We took photos of various types of street arts, and superimposed them onto each other. Similarly, these street artists do not necessarily come from this community (in fact, many of them do not). Hence, these street arts themselves seem to be superimposed to the community as well. Furthermore, each layer is made slightly transparent and with strong light filter, to give the feeling of our perception of the area -- just as the way we quickly passed through the street and gave glimpses of these wonderful street arts.
